A while ago I was asked permission to use a photo from my website for a new book. The photographer with whom I put them in touch gave permission too and we were both sent a copy. The book, written by Olsen & Olsen, is about the collaboration over the internet, which I – as ‘uncrowned queen of citizen science’ – find very interesting and I know most of my readers will too. So I think this book deserves a mention in my book category. You can read more about it on the website of Morgan & Claypool Publishers.

The book states “discovered a third kind of galaxy while participating in the Galaxy Zoo project”. Surely this is incorrect? Hanny’s Voorwerp is not a type of galaxy, but rather a very rare astronomical event i.e. a quasar ionization echo.
Yes, I guess that would be a better description too.
