And other crazy search terms.
Did you know that when you Google a phrase and you find a website, that the people behind that website are able to see what you originally searched for? Don’t worry, I can’t see who typed the following terms into the search machine, but these phrases were all used by people at some point.
So every now and then I see a “someone arrived at your website Googling X” and since some of those X’s were remarkable or funny, I thought I’d make top 10. It’s not a countdown of often used remarks, but I have seen most of them more than once. Actually, they’re in alphabetical order and just for fun. Here goes:
- Hanny goes wild (Erm, yeah ?!)
- Hanny hanny abba (Perfectly logical; my name does sound like the Abba song ‘Honey honey’)
- Hanny van Arkel Playboy (This one appears very frequently…)
- Hanny van Arkel single (What were they looking for? And why? No, I didn’t bring out any singles)
- Hanny’s blue stuff (Actually makes sense; it was how I originally described the Voorwerp)
- Hanny’s discovery Galaxy Zoo (Very often used in different combinations)
- Hanny’s Foorheep (What? I love this one!)
- Hanny’s Veerwoop (And this one too!)
- Hubble Hanny’s thingy (From early on I’ve had lots of combinations with ‘Hubble’ regularly)
- The Hanny (The Nanny? Or ‘The Hanny from the Voorwerp?)
You’ve got to love Google. I’m sure some of the people using these terms didn’t find what they were looking for on my site, but it also shows you don’t need to know how to spell that silly Dutch word to be able to stumble upon the right place. Thanks for looking for me and my thing!
