Would you like to see what Hubble saw when looking at Hanny’s Voorwerp?

Then keep reading. The new year is already treating me very well, as I can finally say we’re going to present the Hubble picture of Hanny’s Voorwerp next week!

As mentioned before, the press conference on our results will be presented by Bill Keel at the American Astronomical Society in Seattle, this Monday January 11th, on 12.45 local time (which is 8.45pm GMT). From that moment on, the picture will be seen on the Hubble site, the Galaxy Zoo forum, this site of course, and I’m pretty sure there’ll be some others to follow. Press releases with extra info on our results will be sent out then as well.

I’m leaving for Seattle tomorrow and I’ll be back next Thursday. In between I’ll probably be giving some interviews or will have a good time otherwise, meeting up with friends on the other side of the planet. Meanwhile you can reach me via a couple of e-mail addresses, of which you can find one on the contact page. I’m also carrying my phone, but I’d appreciate it if you’d call me for non-urgent things on Thursday. (My number is not on this site).

Lastly, if you really want to be kept updated: follow me on twitter. The ‘hashtag’ for the meeting is #AAS217, but I and the Zoocrew will also be ‘tweeting’ the #Voorwerp. Do drop me a line and a big thanks again to everyone who already did! Thanks also to everyone who’s supported me at home and work. I’m very excited about the trip and about Seattle and I’m also looking forward to sharing my adventures from the U S of A.
