As part of a remarkable ‘European tour’, I once visited the science centre Philippus Lansbergen in Middelburg in the middle of the night. I was then asked if I’d like to come back one day and tell about my astronomical find. Last Tuesday was International Woman’s Day and so they thought it would be the ideal moment for a this ‘woman in science’ to visit.
It’s a shame I didn’t have more time to come over sooner and enjoy the Sun in Zeeland. And that I couldn’t stay long afterwards, to use their scopes and look at the stars too. But it was a nice evening, this ‘ladies night’. And definitely worth spending six hours in trains for. I’d only been there once before, but I felt home quickly and I got a lot of nice responses from the audience.
