For a while it seemed like we’d skip ‘winter’ this year; there was talk of a not so cold-cold season, before the weather ladies and gentlemen turned out right and it froze at least twenty degrees here in the Netherlands.
This meant rumours of skating competitions (although I’m not a proper/cliché Dutch citizen on that front I’m afraid) and of course trains didn’t know how to cope. I sometimes feel like I rest more on trains than in my bed lately, but – always thinking glasses are full – I think this gives me pretty views.
Views of different landscapes. Glistening white grass. Sunlight through bald trees. People playing in it. Views from strangers I meet. Horses and birds flying by. While I’m reading or doing nothing else. I’m not trying to be poetic, I just often find myself musing when merely on my way. Like an Alice in Wonderland…
