I have cold feet. My nose is cold. My ears are red and cold. My fingertips, my toes, my cheeks, even the ends of my hair… But what a pretty sight eh?!
It does also provide reasons to complain, as the snow isn’t very convenient for all traffic either, but glasses are half full, not half empty. Janey gets this concept, she doesn’t moan about frozen body parts and just runs around like a puppy, kicking up the white stuff with her nose. Yes, we did make some time to enjoy this seasons weather in between me being busy with the new job. Me being busy is also the main reason I haven’t updated my blog this new year yet. My voice needs to get used to three days music lessons in a week, but it’s great fun. The new colleagues are very helpful and when the kids see me somewhere they greet me with: “Hi music teacher!”
Furthermore I started with a new year resolution and I can say that it’s going very well. I’m actually going to bed on the same day as I got up. It’s not that I don’t like my bed, on the contrary, it’s just that I like doing a lot of other stuff better than sleep. Now, I told my friends to ignore me online after midnight, but that wasn’t even necessary so far. I also booked a trip to London again, to see my friends at Astrofest. In the beginning of February it will be a year ago since we first met up, so it will be nice to go over for a weekend to celebrate that.
So, that’s it for an update of my regular life. One of the next updates will hopefully include some exciting new pictures of Hanny’s Voorwerp! I already have them on my lappy, but I need permission to make them public first. In the meantime I’d like to thank everyone for the nice responses to this website so far! And yes, you can also e-mail me, but I would like to ask that if you do that to respond to a specific blog, please mention the title of it. Also, again to my Dutch friends: yes you are allowed to leave Dutch comments on here as well, suffies.
But go outside now first and enjoy the landscape before it melts again!

I like experimenting with my (mobile phone!) photo camera. Especially on beautiful days like today… (c) Hanny van Arkel.
I stood under this mistletoe for a while, but I guess with Christmas being over…
