Read that title in a French accent and you got it right. It’s a Dutch word (too) and it refers to the festivities we do during the weeks Sint Nic is in our country. But most of my readers will probably know this as ‘Secret Santa’. We ‘did surprise’ with our students and since everybody seems to know about my hobbies, I got something related to the reason for starting this website.
Just to clarify, surprises are done with little gifts, but you also have to write a poem and make an original present wrapper. So last year I got my very own universe, with a space frog (i.e. my Voorwerp) in it. This year it was a solar system, with an Earth that rotates when the real Sun shines! I have a collection of space stuff – now I’m really an amateur astronomer!!
So because I thought these are very cool, I’m showing them off here. The poem is lovely too, trust me. And with that, I’m going to wish all Dutch readers a ‘fijne Sinterklaasavond’, as I should get ready for the party at my little cousin’s myself now. Guess who’s visiting… hij komt, hij komt!
