Hello December! And hello dear people who are still reading my stories on here. It’s been a while again, but I trust you’re all busy too with the upcoming holidays and life in general. We only have a few school days left for this calendar year and meanwhile we’ve started preparing for Christmas (in a tree-with-lights-that-work and teasing-family-about-presents kind of way). We baked the traditional Christmas bread, I’m in the mood for those cheesy songs and I’m looking forward to spending a few days doing nothing.
But we also just had that other tradition here and even though Sinterklaas has already returned to Spain, I thought I’d share this picture of my cousin and I. After helping Sint the past five years by dressing up as one of his helpers, we had noticed last year that little Valesca would soon be on to us. Even though she still bought it that time, you could see her having doubts about us being the real deal. There were still presents though! Upon opening the one Sint had accidentally put in my shoe, she shouted out that that was exactly what she always wanted. Aw.
When I got home that evening, I noticed I still had that pony sticker on my forehead that my cousin thought would suit me. I guess a part of me will never grow up. Steven and I celebrated pakjesavond together too and I got the big book! Evidentially, I’ve been good this year. Anyway, have great last month of the year everyone out there!
