Last Friday my dear friend Edd planned to arrive in ‘my country’ so I asked him if he’d like to go somewhere – we’ve been tourists in the caves of Maastricht before for instance.
“I’m happy to do anything, as long as it’s with you” he said. Yeah, he is very sweet. “No wait, unless it’s karaoke” he quickly added though and I replied: “Edd, if you keep saying funny stuff like that, it’ll end up on my blog”. Edd: “Well, I have your password…” Me: “I’ll add that too”.
He seriously has the password of my website, as he’s my personal techy helpdesk for what I call ‘wordpress-stress’. Yes, WordPress is wonderful. But if I were so ‘computer-smart’ that I could make a program like it, I would make it so that it’s easy to use. I cannot understand why it suddenly gives me two lines of space in between two paragraphs, where I don’t want them, but it won’t put them on the place where I hit ‘enter’. Another example – also in my shortlist of ‘most annoying and illogical’ – is the fact that it doesn’t seem to understand that if I say I want the pictures to show up ‘on the left’, that I don’t mean ‘in the middle’. Oh well, I’ve learned how to fool it a bit and when it’s on to me, I poke Edd.
Also on my backstage crew is Graham. Besides being my dear friend as well, he checks my spelling and hosts the whole thing. And, when I think: “Hmm, maybe it would be cool to have a favicon” next thing I know, this designer genius has already put me one in my e-mailbox. This is it. Watch this space – it will appear soon!
So, what else is new? I thought I’d check out Twitter as well, and I’m now there as ‘hannyvanarkel’, in case you were wondering. Also, Edd and I had a great weekend in the end, having dinner and a film on the sofa (some clichés are so nice). And for the record, I did check with him first before I posted this. That’s it for an update for now.

Hmm, apparantly the favicon already appears for some, just not for me…
I can see your favicon ‘loud & clear’ hanny
For me the favicon look good.
I like it.
Thanks – good to know.
I like the favicon, looks very good, nice colour and very clear.
Hey Geoff, thanks! Glad you can see it – and really pleased you like it too. Inf made six different versions of the logo and we both thought this one worked best.
Yay! I can see it now myself as well!
That was nice, what was the film called?
“The Holiday”, a ‘romcom’.
Huh, a romcom? What’s that?
It’s short for ‘romantic comedy’.
Just looked it up on the web, a lot of familiar British Actors there. Sarah Parish, who plays someone called Hannah, is in a British sitcom, called ‘Mistresses’, currently being shown on BBC TV.
