Les Histoires minuscules de l’Espace

A few months ago, someone from the French Space Agency (CNES) and more particularly, the Cultural Department called the Space Observatory, wrote to me because they were working on the ‘European Heritage Days’. Apparently, my story matched closely to their project for this weekend.

The French Ministry of Culture and Communication had proposed the theme to be: ‘the hidden heritages’, they explained: “The very aim, during these two days, is to make the public aware of the space history through such minors facts that they sometimes went unnoticed at the time they took place. It will focus on anecdotes about crucial events in the space adventure as well as on secondary characters who had a decisive impact. To sum up, a whole heritage which is sometimes so small to detect that it may seem to be hidden.”

In a couple of e-mails I was interviewed about Hanny’s Voorwerp and how I discovered it. Yesterday, I received the invitation to the exposition in my snail-mailbox. This is not the event in France I mentioned earlier I’ll be at – to avoid confusion – I’ll not physically be at this one! But I think it’s nice my Voorwerp is on this exhibition and maybe readers closer to the event would like to go and see it.

Details can be found on their website, and if you do attend this weekend (15-16 September 2012), please take pictures for me okay? I’d love to see it and if possible visitors-sending-pictures won’t mind, I would love to show them here. Have fun there in any case!
