I’ve been meaning to show more – astronomy related – books on here actually. (Also ones in which I don’t make an appearance, but this is not one of those.) A while ago, the writer of ‘New eyes on the universe’, Stephen Webb, wrote to me asking if he could use one of the pictures I had taken and had put on my site. It was the muddy field, with the LOFAR antennae, which I took when visiting ASTRON.
Although I always loved taking pictures, I lack a proper camera and I never thought I’d appear in a book this way. I think it’s rather cool though and because I gave permission, I was sent a copy of the book. It travelled with me on various trips I recently took, as it’s a rather interesting read as well. It’s about the questions we still have about the universe and how we’re trying to answer them.
I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s very informative so far and I can recommend it to the amateur astronomers reading this.
