PK Liège

It’s already been a few weeks, but I still want to share my first official Pecha Kucha experience with you, lovely readers out there. In case you’ve missed the announcements, a ‘Pecha Kucha evening’ is (in very short!) a show of about 10 speakers, each presenting their story in only 20 slides and for each of those slides they have exactly 20 seconds. Since the presentations are these short teasers, often with good messages or creative ideas, it attracts a variety of people in the audience. Which is great for networking, but also simply a lot of fun.

I was originally asked to do mine in Maastricht, but I didn’t mind to be scheduled in in Liège last minute as well. One of the other speakers, Gary Evans – who’s story was on “Living Islands”, asked me before the rehearsals if I was as nervous as he was. I asked if it would make him feel better if I said I was. He said yes. So I said yes too. But I didn’t practise and just dived in. Which was a challenge, exciting and nice. Afterwards my story was called serendipitous. I liked that.

As you can see from the pictures, the other presentations were interesting too. Most of the pictures are from Bert Janssen by the way, #PK043’s very own photographer. And in the last picture you can see part of the passionate organising team. One more thing: there’ll be videos soon too!
