By now I think I’ve made a tradition of it: celebrating the new seasons throughout the year, with typical pictures of them.
I like taking pictures and I like to think I’m pretty good at it. Even when I just use my mobile phone camera – because I always have that with me. I enjoy the world around me in details and even though I can never capture how beautiful the real thing is, it’s sort of an addiction to try.
Here’s three images of my autumn collection. Taken on a nice, sunny and blustery day. The kind Winnie the Pooh would love, with lots of leaves tumbling down the lanes – as my friend Graham described it. I love this season’s colours and the evenings curled up on the sofa by candle light…
A shiny chestnut wanting to start a new life.
I was appalled to see Google’s second suggestion, when I looked up information on these beautiful creatures and it wanted to give me tips on how to kill them – while most of them help to clean up your garden!
Enjoy the weather!

Lovely, I love the leafy lane and can hear the sound of the wind and the leaves. So it wasn’t a fox
You have Chestnuts! The great CHESTNUT BLIGHT of the early 20th Century killed EVERY American Chestnut, once the most COMMON tree in North America. There is not a single one left but there may be hope soon. Scientists can grow SOME seedlings that don’t live long, but they think they have a cure for the blight so it is looking like we WILL get the American Chestnut back again.
